Pro-life art by Mary
Abortion, disabilities, political correctness, and hypocricy
I'm against abortion because it violates human rights in so many ways. One obvious reason is that it kills a human being, but something that makes me really angry is when people support abortion when the baby has a disability.
Words cannot describe how angry this makes me. It's discrimination. What's worse is that apparently there are people who think that abortion should be required when the unborn child is disabled. Even still, only 8-10% of unborn babies diagnosed with Down Syndrome are born. Many people seem to think abortion should be legal up to a certain number of weeks, unless the fetus has a disability (so, people with disabilities become people later on in the pregnancy? I don't get it). There was a lawsuit a while back in which an unborn child with Down Syndrome was misdiagnosed, and the parents said they would have terminated the pregnancy if they had known! You can make it sound normal and okay, but in reality, it is a form of discrimination.
What's worse is that so many people are focused on being politically correct, yet they either support or simply don't fight against killing children in the womb who have disabilities. Here is a comic I drew to illustrate that:
The thing is that many people don't realize that this is discrimination. This is probably because of the messages that abortion-supporters send. Abortion-supporters send the message that abortion is a human rights issue and that restricting abortion is anti-human rights. But is the "right" to have an abortion more important than treating people fairly, regardless of their differences? Apparently not. I have met people who are very much in favor of human rights, and yet they will say something like "what if the fetus has a disability?" when defending abortion.
People may argue that abortion would be the best choice because raising children with disabilities is hard, but there are better alternatives. There are organizations who support parents of children with disabilities, and there are people who adopt children with disabilities.
All human beings should be treated fairly. Why is there an exception when they have a disability and they're in the womb?

Katherine!
Hey guys! I'm Katherine, commonly called Kat. Really, now that I think about it, I beleive I prefer Kat to Katherine. SInce I have three cats, maybe it gets confusing -wait a second.
This was supposed to be an introduction, correct? Whoops. You don't want to hear me rambling, do you?
Well, I am fourteen years old and a freshman in high school. I am very active in the pro-life community of Birmingham (Yeah, Birmingham England. NOT.), as well as a Consistent Life teen. I'm Catholic, which plays into a large aspect of the way I see abortion.
I am also...

Paloma
Hello there. My name is Paloma and I am 12 years old. I am a dancer and an actress and I am, obviously pro-life. I do believe in God, but I'm not sure what religion I am. I really like having a clean and neat area to think about stuff, though I am terrible at keeping my room (or anything for that matter) clean.
I believe in equality for any person/animal in every shape, color, form, etc. My main activist subjects are abolishing animal cruelty and pro-life things. I am a kind person but if you insult anybody, including people with different opinions as me, you will get a scolding.
Right, that's enough about me for now. As time goes by, you'll learn more and more about me and the other writers of this blog.

Mary
Well... where should I begin? Well, obviously, my name is Mary, I'm a teenager, and I'm pro-life. I'm an artist. I have too many favorite movies and music artists. I like a lot of things (music, art, movies, clothing styles, etc) that a lot of people would describe as "weird," "creepy," or "strange," but I also really like cute things, like baby animals and stuff. I have a weird sense of humor, and I have a tendency to make really dumb jokes or obscure references to stuff. I have strong opinions and I'm a deep thinker. I'm interested in politics, but I don't really agree with any specific political party. I am strongly against anything that violates human rights. I am against all forms of non-defensive violence. Even though I believe in God, I tend to take a more scientific, philosophical, and pro-human rights approach when discussing abortion. I also use my creativity to express my pro-life views, and I often use satire to get my point across.
So... yeah. You'll probably learn more about me as I make more posts.
